Kyle, I liked your apron idea, so I've been doing this in my school assemblies as a segment of a cooking show ("Cooking with Professor EggaNoggin") and the kids seem to enjoy it. Just another approach that gives a reason for putting on an apron (with a pocket in the front), plus as the host I'm there to "teach," so it fits well with the sucker idea of explaining how the trick is done.

Silk to Egg has been in my show for four decades. I think I'll try for eight!
Eggs are easy for most any audience to identify and they hold attention. Perhaps because they are ultimately expected to be cracked, they are accepted as real when other items are simply seen as magicians' stage props. You can't beat the price! Bob Sanders Magic by Sander |

Hi Curt: Thanks for the kind words. Yep. My storyline gives me a reason for the pouch and it works so amazingly well. I can do the routine at any time and it makes the "magic part" very easy and simple. The misdirection is logical and I do not have to be loaded all the time.
Bob: Love silk to egg. Always has been a fun routine for me. I just have to start doing it more often. I took it out of the show as I started using new routines. Time to place it back in. Kyle

The apron idea is also great with kids in terms of "dressing for the job".

Handling note for using a real egg:
Let the egg get room temperature long before your show. The shell will become more uniform in color and more opaque. It will also make for better control when you crack it. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
