I have a fat thumb that looks like a toe, and can't really pull off a thumb tip without getting a huge one, and looking like a freak. Is this flip tip any different?

It's the same size as a regular TT .
You can do a lot more with it. You just planted a picture in my mind of a thumb that looks like a toe. Funny.

It seems to keep coming up, "Get a thumb tip, get a thumb tip," so I put a link in my signature. Standard TT's don't even stay on my thumbs, they fall off because they don't go down past the first knuckle.

Good idea with the signature.
You may want to check out a Sanada gimmick. Or even better, Berry's "Cloaking device". It's more versatile than a TT and large hands may be a plus. http://www.magicproshop.com/products/clo......tt-berry

That thing looks like something I've been wanting for quite some time.

I bought it at a lecture from Jay Scott Berry at a S.A.M. meeting. He was selling a lot of stuff and I wanted everything but settled for the CD.
It's not that hard to use but it does require practice. This is an obsessive/compulsive hobby.

Flip tip and Eclipse are different things. Sort of similar but different. Flip tip can use powder without touching your thumb. Eclipse cannot.
I like both. Flip tip can do some really crazy appearances and vanishes. And also add slush powder to liquids. I think its a great tool. As far as having a huge thumb, these tips are regular to small size. Vernet makes a really big tip. You can just melt it with a blow dryer to make the opening hold on your thumb. Xiqual,
I have the Fliptip I bought at a Rocco lecture. Are you able to do the one handed silk production? I followed the DVD but I am not able to pull the silk with 2 fingers smoothly.

Ihop,
I know what you mean. I just kind of wave my hand, then tug on it, then regrip and pull again. You have to readjust your fingers once it appears to get it out. James

Old topic, but I just got a flip Tip from Rocco himself at the Portland Magic Jam. It came with two silks and no instructions. I am embarrassed to say, I can't figure the flippin' thing out! I thought it would come with a link to instructions, but no. I'm afraid I'm going to break it. Can anyone help a brother out?
