Hi!
As you may already know from previews posts I Love Colorful/Silk Magic. I have 2 booklets from Pavel Magic but I was wondering if there are something like his "Complete Works" in print. Thanks, -Hansel

I don't know what gives you the idea that Pavel was a silk magic magician. He was more of a general prop and unusual magic experience with simple props. True, this magic used silks I some of his tricks, but his magic effects was really done with flat rings, rope, cards, etc. Even the famous Color Changing Records used silks, but the trick was the 45rpm records.
The Kind of Silks is/was Harold Rice, as he published the Encyclopedia of Silk Magic books and sold many silk magic tricks. The books are now out of print, but you can get a CD of all 4 volumes in PDF format. Next is Marconic, the created more magic tricks with silks then most any other person in magic. He also published several small booklets, I think 6. Back in the 1960's and 1970's, Harry Stanly of England published Marconic's Silk Magic book. When they went out of business, Supreme Magic republished the book. Marconic also published a larger book of his other creations. I can't remember if there was hard bound Pavel Magic book. I have a couple of his booklets as well. If I get a chance to look at my library, I will check. |

There was a hard bound book by Pavel and I have signed copy. There are some silk effects like 20th century in a newspaper and a quad blend. A lot of effect using a silk but not what I would call silk magic per say. Marco nick or Rice are much better sources for ideas.

In practice, Pavel was very accomplished in silk magic. Many of the silk props I use and sell benefit from advice from my old friend Pavel. He was quite creative.

I have The Magic of Pavel book. Like Richard mentioned, there are a variety of effects, many of which include silks. On the pavelmagic website, it is mentioned that the book is out of print but available in PDF format for 29 Euros (approx, $32-33 at this moment). http://www.pavelmagic.com/us/mainhome.php?p=books

Thanks Jimmy!
I've seen in the past a Spanish Magician doing a routine is a kind of "Passe Passe" Silks in the pockets with a Finale of a Big Silk. Where I can find that effect? As always Thanks, -Hansel
