Egad! That was the picture that they used on the Post Office wall!
YOYO!!! --Wonderful! I first 'picked that up" from a bartender when I was in the Navy, in '51! I was behind the counter in the old EdMar Shop in Norfolk. The bartender came in to get a few things he could do. I sold him a few appropriate props, and, he showed me the "YOYO". It took a month, to get it down!, but, it has been well worth the time invested. I've used it ever since. I showed it to Clem Magrum, Gene Anderson, Denny Loomis, and Bob Lewis over the years. Bob used it for his rope knot routine "walk-off". I found a picture the other day of Bob, Mark Leddy and me,at Abbott's GTG in the '60s! Years ago, I used it in the old "Missed Again" gag. But, when the Columbine High School kid shot and killed all those kids and teachers, I had to cut the "Missed Again" gag. Now,it closes the rope routine. You've joined a rather "exclusive" club!!!

Right! --and, well worth the time invested in practice! It's juggling! and it can't be bought "over the counter"!
Denny "got" me interested in what Gene Anderson and I called the "Will Rogers Knot". ("Shaking" an overhand knot into the end of a rope) I still don't have that one 100%!

Mr. Oslund,
When is your new book coming out and who will be releasing it? Any idea as to the retail price? Will you also be selling a DVD as well? Thanks, Mark |

Hi Magic4kids! You mean Denny Loomis' Knot vid. or Danny Mohill's of "the great ME"? hee hee.
Denny L. had to pull my YOYO off an old school show tape. It wasn't a great example, but, it served the purpose. That tape of me was from 1985!--I was much better looking then! (IMO!) Danny M. drove 300 miles to spend two days with me. He shot much footage. I came off looking much better than I am! So! Thanks for your kind words! Dick

Dick,
I did not hardly recognize you without your afro hair do... but then I suppose that you did not want to look like the lost child of the Jackson Five anymore. Seriously, good to see and hear you voice again. It has been far too long. Let me know when the book is ready. Richard

Hey Dick,
I really enjoyed the video. It reminded me of how much I miss sitting behind my trailer at the Centerville MI fair with you and Jerry Conklin talking about everything magical. I am still performing at that fair (around 15 years now) but it is not the same without you guys. I too, am anxiously awaiting the book. I still have lots to learn. Hoping our paths will cross again. Warm regards, Jef
