My favourite multiple coins vanishing technique.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwItfq_U_AY This is the version I do for only one spectator, but the technique can be adjusted for multiple spectators. Hope you enjoy. b |

That is Milton Cort's drop vanish. Here is the version I uze from the Encyclopedia of Coin Sleights. It can also be used to silently and secretly grab several coins.

Don't you think grabbing your wrist it's very unnatural? Neeeext...

Michael: thanks for the info. I'll try to check his work. And thanks for the link, I do use that version as well depending on the routine and the occasion.
Baal: I have to admit that you do have a point. This being said, one thing about me is that my hole style is "kind of unnatural", and the motion probably wouldn't shock you that much if you saw me performing. My aim in general is more aesthetic prestidigitation than "pure magic"... Thanks b |

Yes it is completely different. I thought the thread was on multi coin vanishes, and I was presenting my own. Nothing wrong with the first version, many people use that technique to vanish several coins.

Ok ok boys. I know what you mean. But just because it was in Cellini's book - which is great btw- doesn't mean it's good.- it's just my own opinion. I just prefer different variation of multiple coin vanish which I think is much better. Let me wake up, and I will record it later. Oh and you can do it for multiple spectators without adjusting btw I like your style mensieur Dafedas, I've heard about you from my mate from London.

What is music in the background? is it from Shenmue's soundtrack by any chance?

Besides for using it to disappear coins at the end of a performance, how would it be used in a routine?

Baal: Fair enough mate, looking forward to see your version. I uses several versions myself, but like this one whenever I can do it because you finish fingers opened, which I find aesthetically appealing ( breathing and shoulder relaxation are important at the end of the vanish to release the "heat" on the hands by the way ). And thank you and your London mate for checking my stuff.
Daniel116: Soundtrack: Terminal 5 by Yann Dulché. On I tune. Ray: I pretty much just use that technique for vanishing at the end of some routines: 2 fly, 2b gone, shadow coins ( if I'm in good shape ), or 3 coins routines ( Void, to be published, and Clair de Lune ). I kind of like the idea of starting from nothing and ending with nothing, whenever that's appropriate. I used to use more nowhere palm, like the vanish in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1EweQdiIgE ... but after a bit more experimentation, I feel that mid nowhere p is a bit stronger as it has more applications. I'll expose my theories on the subject in due time. All the best, b |

Hey Dafedas,
man I really enjoy ALL of your Coin Work! ,..some really great stuff? But what I dig the most, ...is the Vanishing Head number(!)! ,that isn't some kind of 'French Drop', is it? ,..a 'Guillotine' move of some kind?? bwwwaaa!,... that's a killer! piles of smiles, gallagher |

Thanks for the good feeling words man.
You know what? I wish I can stick my face EVERYWHERE The thing is, because magic is not the only thing I'm doing, I kind of feel it's wiser not to show my face too much. For other professional stuff and other artistic activities. Don't want to be too categorised as a magician, as "Dafedas B" is only one part of me. Also I like slightly dark atmosphere, shadowy aesthetics, but if you see me in real life, I'm super open and smily. All the best! b |

Rune Klan has an interesting variation on his "3 pieces of silver" DVD.
Much more visual drop of the coins into the left hand with sound enhancement. Also, consider Vinnie's use of the Crimp to vanish multiple coins, singly or as a set. For the latter, say a stack of three, after the POV display of the placement there is no finger movement at all on the extraction.

Hi Funsway
Do you mean Klan's viking vanish? His drop is indeed more visual. But as far as my humble experience goes, this allows less room for finger openness and dropping the arms straight away if you finished the routine. You can do a pretty open modified ramsay just after, but to then drop the hand implies more heat on the motion and readjusting. It also depends if you talk or perform the move silently. Generally speaking, I think that mid nowhere is aesthetically stronger than modified ramsay ( maybe one exception with moritz Mueller whose modified ramsay is so outstanding that it creates a perfect emptiness illusion ). Will check the crimp. Thanks for your suggestions+comments. |
