Hey Guys! I thought I would share this incredible resource before it is gone. At this link you can get access to a completely free series of training videos (11 I think) of in-depth explanation and discussion into coin magic by my favorite magician and teacher-Aaron Fisher. He has put this brilliant program together to share these lessons with no strings. It offers brilliant insight into proper technique, tension reduction, structure and presentation, and how he thinks of misdirection at every beat in the process. The lessons within can be applied to ALL magic...not just coins. As is always the case with Aaron, you get way more than you pay for...and in this case you pay nothing! There should be something there for all skill levels. If this interests you I would act now..I don't think it will be up for long.

Very impressed!
This arrived at a moment in which I was again contemplating how to get some of these import messages across to performers. Most of the feedback from my effects (purchase and gifted) fall into the "I don't understand the illusion of magic" category. With this series -- assuming it develops as indicated, I will be able to point all future students to this course BEFORE I get to "the good stuff" Thanks, Aaron, for saying very directly some of the things I know of magic that I often fail to explain adequately.

I watched the series and I like it a lot. At first it seems like he's teaching a simple coin vanish, but there's much more.

Yes, very well done. Aaron Fisher is a real pro at technique, application and the progressive thought of it all…Very thoughtful worker indeed.
Thanks for posting Shawn…I can remember many moons ago, (Way before the Magic Café here, and way before that even) just wishing to have someone to sorta help me iron out the many rough points in all this stuff, or just someone to talk to that shared this seriously fun interest with me. Never really had that much, and went many miles by myself in it all. But now, there's just so much out there, and to have an instructional video series like this for people to learn from, dealing with the finer points, well, it's just magical. Folks coming up now with this sort of work from Aaron, well, you sure are lucky. It's a dang good job, and definitely required reading, or something like that. -Mb

I don't know MB. Maybe, because you had to iron that all out for yourself, is why you are so creative when it comes to coin magic.
Nothing wrong with Aaron's teachings, they are awesomely well put together and explained. I have seen his card stuff as well as this. But you may have "blazed a trail" rather than "walked a path" with the masses.

Glad everyone is taking advantage of this. When I first started in magic I had no idea where to go and get the "real" lessons. I live in a small town and there is no community here. I could have easily fallen into the hands of some one who teaches magic but truly has no love or respect for the art. Luckily I found Aaron on Theory 11 many years ago. Any lessons/training I have ever received from him, be it skype lessons, video training, books, DVDs, or in person lectures, I have always learned more about the art itself rather than just the trick or sleight he is teaching. Proud to be an Aaron Fisher student!

Aaron's history with coin magic goes back a long way. He and I worked together at magic masters and he was just out of high school, and he told me he got in trouble one day while practicing stuff from the Roth book in class.
He also said he'd developed a one hand popover, to which I said, "yeah, right." |

I don't remember the specifics of the effect, but in one of his old manuscripts he had a coin routine that was pretty difficult, at least for me at the time. I could tell from that effect that he knew what he was doing!

Yeah, he had a set of lecture notes that he used to sell on his site that had a coin routine, and I almost bought the notes, but I don't think he sells them anymore. I didn't buy them because most of the stuff was already in the book.

I haven't seen any of the old lecture notes for sale in a long time.

Aaron Fisher does what I guess I always wanted to do as to magic…Just do it!
I've been watching and listening through his series of presentations, and the one where he speaks about Juan Tamariz is quite interesting. In it he speaks of loads of things within a conversation but specifically as to who "The Professor" is and how he takes on various guises as to magic. He recognized and spoke of Juan Tamariz as The Professor, today. I found it interesting as you get to hear how these beuracracies in magic come to be, how they are dispelled, and how they progress magic. It's an interesting listen…Actually all of it is interesting from a guy that has learned well, way beyond the basics. Technology allows him to share great distances beyond the old back room of it all. Thank God!

Thanks very much, I've seen some of Mr. Fisher's instruction before and he's good at it.
Looking forward to this series. |
