Just pulled out my old Okito coin box.
With the Bobo book and Roth videos, I will be plenty busy. Thanks for the inspiration. |

Look into the Jo-Pro box when you get a chance. Its a chopped Okito, and with David's book the sky is the limit. Chazpro has a chopped Buhdda Box with the gimmicks reversed which is very nice, but the Jo-Pro has the gimmick going in the correct direction to not get caught. The routine that comes with it, floors the layperson.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

Dave N does have some interesting ideas in his manuscripts.
I just dug out the big David R. book out of my magic dungeon. Currently I am trying to get the C.P. of 4 coins to look natural as I go for the lid of the Okito Box. In theory it reads very interesting. In practice,(only a couple of days) it feels and looks very awkward.Of course so did most of my nearly normal efforts. Anyone worked this till it was playable in real world situations? Harris

I just got one of the Riser/Loomis copper micro chop cups and it is a beautiful prop. The Sacagewea dollars fit perfectly so I can throw away my P&L Okito box and do a completely 21st century coin routine with current currency.
Nothing would get done at all, if man waited so long that no one could find fault with it.

Just received Chad Long's video: "Chad Long's Magic Video"...originally released some time ago... acquired it for his "Okito Reverse-Embly". Essentially, a reverse matrix with Boston box...it is an excellent routine and has become my new "project." Check it out if you are drawn to coin box magic.
To see a difficult thing lightly handled gives the impression of the impossible.

I love the boxes. I do, what I hope anyway, is a fairly original series with a standard Okito, and slot box. The basic idea is
Start with empty box (Dragon Okito box typically) Close box, snap! Presto, dump out four halves. Do a variation on Roth's Out With 4, using combinations of edge palm, Edge grip, bold steal, etc. (No La Masque loads!! I do not like that move). Finish series with single coin/hand penetration. At the very end, I vanish the four coins, and am left with the original empty box. The slot box routine goes in a similar fashion, but I use HPC a lot and an extra half in there somewhere. finishes with a four coin steal from box to hand instead of vanishing the coins. |
