I'm wondering about one of the design features of the invisible thread reel. There are holes in the central tube where the elastics are threaded thru, and just next to these holes (a little closer to the center) it looks like bands of white tape. Anyone know what these taped areas are for? I have also seen them as black bands or red on different models.
