So I bought this dvd and have now had a chance to view it. I must say, pretty much all but two routines I will probably end up performing at some point.
The Devil Makes Three - The performance is linked above on youtube. This is by far the most difficult routine on the dvd, but with some practice and possibly some changes, I will be using this. I really liked the pace and presentation of this routine. It just seems so fair. Coming Up - This is an impromptu rising card. I have played around with this, but don't know if I will perform it yet, as I think angles might make it an issue table hopping. Boxing Match - A deck is shuffled by the spectator and then you place it in its card box. A different colored deck is opened and a card selected. Now from the first boxed shuffled deck you visually pluck their selection from the boxed deck. This is great if you work behind a bar or from a case, but would probably not be for you if strolling as it requires two decks. Mike's Two-Cents - Similar to Coin on Call (http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/5991), you propose that you are going to use suggestion to make them remember incorrectly the identity of a coin. You end with the picture on their phone being different than what they thought it would be, and two examinable coins. This one is great. Open To Change - This is similar to Mike's Two-Cents, but uses a card and cash instead of coins. He created this as a way to do something similar to Mike's Two-Cents for repeat patrons. I think this is just as strong if not stronger to Mike's Two-Cents, and the thinking behind this is awesome. This effect has a lot going for it. Open prediction, betting money, magician in trouble, and a photo souvenir on their phone. Shaken Not Stirred - This is the other one on the dvd that I will not use, at least not exactly as shown. It is a two deck triumph routine using a cocktail shaker. If you are a bar magician, this would be great for you. For strolling magicians, this is obviously not something you are going to use. Flying Sandwich - Another nice effect that would work for table hopping. I don't want to give too much away, but basically you do a sandwich effect where they expect their selection to end up in your half of the deck but the sandwich ends up in their half of the deck instead. Kind of like a kickback routine. Not a lot of material on this dvd will work for strolling, but if you are a table hopper, bar magician, or do small parlor shows I think you will find material you can use. In the day and age of single trick dvd being release every week, it was nice to get a dvd with multiple trick on it. It was especially nice to find that the material is workable and that I can use several of the routines. Recommended.

Update: Mike is one of the nominees for the Academy of Magical Arts Close-up Magician of the Year, a well-deserved honor.
