I originally posted this in the "Not Very Magical..." section, but this seems like a better place.
What is the SINGLE most magical moment you have ever experienced in a magic performance, either while performing or watching? I am not looking for a routine, but only a single moment that most amazed you or made you smile. For me, it was only a couple of weeks ago - the first time I saw Shin Lim do his waistcoat card change live at IBM. The entire Dream routine led up to that point, but that was the crowning moment for me. What about you?
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

Amazing to me that, having seen Henning, Copperfield, and other great masters live, the single most magical moment I've ever experienced in a theater was at the end of Mary Poppins on Broadway. Mary was flying away, leaving the Banks family, floating gently from stage right to stage left. But instead of continuing off into the wings she paused, and floated over the audience's heads to the very back corner of the theater. Wave after wave after wave of sheer delight erupted from the crowd as she passed each section. The gaff was clearly visible to anyone who cared to look at it, but the effect was so purely magical that it made me sit up and take notice. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

Cleaning up after a show, I picked-up a loose watch bezel and palmed it (no reason) then went back to unplug wires 20 feet away.
One minute later a man came in looking at the ground. I asked what he wanted. He said he lost part of his watch, and held up his arm. I clamped my hand (with bezel palmed) over his watch and it snapped in place.

For me, it was nothing like some of the above, but it was magical anyway.
One Summer when I was in high school I did a clown magic act, and one of the tricks was a borrowed ring found in a nest of boxes. I wore gloves during the show. So I borrowed the ring and started to vanish it in a handkerchief, but thought I dropped it before I could load it. I was sure I dropped it but couldn't see it anywhere. So here I was in character, going along with the show, trying to figure out what to do about it and probably losing half my makeup from worry. Finally came time to open that last box... and the ring was inside. The worst part was, I couldn't react (WAAAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!) out of character. I had to hold it until afterwards.

The moment Copperfield went into the glass box during flying. Even when you know how it's done, it still remains magical. It's probably the one illusion that shows people dreams still come true.

Seeing Doug Henning's Broadway show, Merlin, and then spending several hours with him after the show via a personal invitation.

A disaster that worked out well: I was doing a Psychometric bit, returning objects that had been sent anonymously to the stage. As I carried each article to its owner, I did a cold reading. Suddenly, as I started to take one more object to its owner, I completely blanked ... could not think of even one cold line or any reading material. I stammered for a while, visibly shaken. I finally told the owner that the vibrations from his item made me very confused, and I could not get any one feeling from it. He took it from me and told me it was his worry stone.
