I have kind of a different question.
The son of a good friend is a budding magician, and he calls me quite often to ask me questions or for advice on various things he is working on. He is quite good and he has built a few inexpensive illusions. The other day he came to me with plans for The Airborne Box, published by Paul Osborne. I know that it is his version of the No Feet illusion, but I am not familiar with the operation of No Feet. I don't want to get into an ethics or secrets discussion, but I just want to know from anyone familiar with both No Feet and Airborne Box, is Airborne Box "safe" to perform, once built (with the difficult parts built by a professional)? I have built about ten illusions from Osborne plans, and they have all worked well, but I have never built anything of his that required welding. Thanks.
Things are more like they are today than they've ever been before...

For your information:
The Airborne Box, published by Paul Osborne is NOT his version of the No Feet illusion. The airborne box / Flying box /Special Delivery was created by Ali Bongo ( not Osborne) and the No feet is a Andre Kole llusion and you need his permission to perform this. Both the effect & contruction are different of these 2 illusions. If you have a good welder this illusion should be "safe" to perform. |

Find a Super-X Lev, and you pretty much have what you need for the Flying Box. A brilliant concept!

Another question regarding this illusion...
I am a lone performer, but before I purchase the Osborne plans I'd like to know if a full-time assistant is necessary, or can this be done with the event organizer, etc with some pre-show runthru, and if so, how much prep is needed? |

I have a new version of a magician floating in a box..
There are many many many versions on the market of these types of illusions.. EDF magic has the Bitting yourself on the forehead which was invented by Mr Steinmeyer.. Then you have the NO feet which is Andrea. There are a few others.. The gift box. There is a Goon box which is another JS and one that Js and I believe Mark Kalin are involved in.. I saw it once where you put a box on a hook and then the box drops and a girl appears.. Now, I have come up with a new version of this type of illusion that can be performed with just the magician and not assistants of any kind.. No men and or girls have to help out.. It's a one man version of a floating In a box trick.. I came up with this one for the solo magicians.. I'm working on a one man touring show and needed this type of magic as well.. Any time you can do an illusion solo, it seems to be a plus.. There was another man that did one on the America's got talent that did a one man floating in a box trick There are so many versions out today of this type of illusion.. The gravity box requires a girl to appear though.. I hope that this helps in some ways.. TR

Hi Taylor,
I'd be very interested in learning about your version. Could you please PM me? Thanks! Lou |
