Did anyone here go to the Golden Gate Magic Convention in Foster City, CA? I wish I knew about it cause I live right next to it. Anyone here part of the organizers? Would be good to have the convention twice a year

Theron Schaub, Dave Nelson, Kent Gunn and I formed GGG nine years ago.

In 2005, all four of us went to the 52 in Buffalo, NY. On the flight home I mentioned that flying all over the country to see friends that lived down the road or to even meet new friends was tiring. So we decided to form our own get together to bring the party to us.
In 2006 we hosted the first GGG and now we are 9 years strong.
Admittedly, this past year was by far the best one yet and our decade celebration is going to be a tough act to follow.

We considered twice a year for about half a second and then decided against it. It's a ton of work and we all families.

I'd like to help you out -- Let me know what I can do to help. I can help get a website together, social media etc. I really wish I knew about the event because I live right in Foster City and would have been wonderful to see everyone there.

Hi Dorian - where can we sign up for the newsletter? I know several Las Vegas magicians who would also want to fly out to this event. Allan Ackerman is the one who told me about this event at the weekly Las Vegas meet up which I try to attend when I can travel to Nevada.

We are still in the process of booking our guest speakers.
As the 2016 GGG approaches, the site will go live and announcements will be made.
The 2016 GGG is going to be a good one. It's the ten year celebration.

Did I miss the 2016 convention?

No, you didn't miss it. It's not really an annual convention even though we've held it sometime between May and September for the last 10 years. Each year, it has come together when our schedule and the speakers' schedules aligned. That didn't happen for the summer of 2016. If you're on the mailing list, there will likely be some news about it soon.

The Golden Gate Gathering is definitely back for 2018.
