Then again, books like The Amateur Magicians Handbook and Stars of Magic had fantastic photographic instructions that were very easy to follow.
The beauty of learning from books was that you had to picture yourself doing the effects rather than just copying what you see on a video. That also encouraged creative thinking as you explored the different ways things could be handled and sometimes stumbled upon something new simply because of the way you interpreted the instructions. |
