Hi
I've just finished Scryer's book of readers and found it ingenious. But: Which type of location would be perfect to earn money while using this readings? ...and which locations people are interrested in this stuff?...because I don't think that most people in bars etc. believe in psychic reading etc. Thanks in advance |

I live on 9th Ave in Manhattan and there are street readers every few blocks in my neighborhood...usually just outside a bar or a Pizza joint.

I was going to answer by saying - 'a library'
But don't you hate those sort of glib one-liners? My real answer is anywhere you can find hairdressers.

Somewhere historic and preferably a little dark - people seeing the sights at night might be open and in the mood for a reading,

Being a regular reader (when I take my fiber). Talk to bookstores (independents rather than chains) especially metaphysical bookshops. Now as a warning most of the metaphysical bookshops may already have their own stable of readers, and if they agree to take you on, you may get less than optimal time slots (but they are good for experience). Plug yourself to bookstores as a "once a month event" to help bring people into the store and then promote the hell out of it, rather than expecting the store to do it for you. If YOU can bring THEM in money, they will be much more willing to bring you back on a regular basis.
Coffee shops are okay, I've done better at salons. As with all things, take this with a grain of salt, your mileage may vary, offers may not be good at all locations, etc etc etc |

Try coffee shops located in retail mini-strips featuring female oriented businesses (retail mini-strips containing hair and nail salons are generally the best), but coffee shops located near workout gyms and yoga studios are good too... and if the retail mini-strip also features shoe and/or clothing stores (in addition to hair and nail salons), all the better. Also look at sushi and/or vegetarian Cafés and/or juice & smoothie bars.

Thank you
So, I should approach them and ask if they would like to join a reading? Greets |

A while back you began a thread titled "Rude spectators..." and this was how you began your post, "Sometimes, when Im performing in Nightclubs, some people react bad. Why does this happen? Is this normal or is this my mistake?"
I was always curious; were you referring to a paid performance (table hopping or stage) or practicing on strangers while on a night out? You never returned to the thread so never had a chance to ask you directly. |

For you readers at bookshops/coffee houses: Do you usually charge the sitter alone, or do you charge the establishment as well? When I did table-hopping magic it was house fee plus tips, so I am curious to see how this differs in a reading format..Especially since my art has been going more in that direction and I would love to start reaching out to similar places the OP is asking about.
*I knew you were going to read this

The answer is easy: in front of a paying customer.

However, if you are a very popular reader in high demand, and you bring-in a lot of customer traffic into the venue, then perhaps you can charge appearance fees to the owner of the establishment as well. Signage tip: you should clearly have the price for a reading indicated on your table sign so folks don't have to keep asking "How much for the reading?" Also, include the duration of the reading on your table sign so folks don't have to keep asking "How long is the reading?" It's also a good idea to tip the baristas at the conclusion of your session. Hi,
my sharpened mentalist senses (and your nickname) tell me, that you are from Germany, just like me. The places I found good for providing readings are: - psychic fairs (though there is a tough competition) - alternative bookstores (easy to identify by their big asortment of esoteric books) - esoteric stores I also used to give readings in a lokal bar, where I was a regular customer and sometimes tried new stuff on the people there (I have the advantage of being friends with the bar owner).
