Lost a coin once under a weighty pallet of bottled water in one of those super hardware stores.
I was doing my "Ike & Mike" 2 coin trick, (Which I always begin with a unique flourish toss up of the coins that looks sorta like a water fountain - Really cool!), except this time one of the coins got away from me and rolled immediately out of sight…That fast, I couldn't seem to find it anywhere and just thought I had lost it, an old friend that had went most everywhere with me for years. Lucky that I've often done magic at this store for people, store employees and customers, and so when they went to change the water and saw the coin there, they knew just who it most likely belonged to. When one of the managers in that area saw me again, he did a bit of his own kind of magic and pulled the old from behind my ear. He said he knew right away that it must've belonged to "Mr. Magic" --That's what they all call me there. I was so mad when I first lost it underneath there, thought that would be the last time I saw that old half dollar coin…But lo & behold, it reappeared from right behind my very ear. Now, that's magic!

Dropped my favorite silver dollar, that has lived in my pocket forever, and it rolled under the soda machine in a Chipotle restaurant. I had on business attire so it looked sort of silly to see a grown man with a nice suit and tie crawling on the floor trying to reach under the machine.
Another time I was at an amusement park and dropped it near a Pirates of the Caribbean type of ride and it rolled towards the water. I frantically chased after it and snatched it right when it was taking the plunge into the water of no return. A few times I have coin rolled it across my knuckles while crossing the street at Times Square or another busy intersection just to see if I could do it under those conditions without dropping it under a bus or something. So far so good. |

Hey, I used to practice moves and coin rolling throughout Times Square and all over the City too, especially while waiting for the subway on the platform. If you drop a coin there amidst such crowds and tight space, etc…YIKES!
It's all good practice and leads to you doing all this stuff almost automatically without flaw…You eventually come to be somewhat amazed whenever you happen to drop a coin every here & there. What a good reversal of fortune.
