A friend of mine used to sit his wife down every year when the pre-season games began. And then he'd ask her: "Dear, is there anything you want to talk about? Anything you need done? Because once football season starts, I won't be available. I'll be in front of the TV and don't want to be disturbed."
I wouldn't ever be so bold and rude. But I do find it distracting and annoying when spouses or girlfriends talk about irrelevant things while important games are being played. Anyone else have this happen? If so, how do you cope with it? |

What are these things: important games? I do not comprehend.

What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

I like to throw a football around but it's been awhile. I wonder if I could still toss a spiral.

After nearly 36 years of marriage, my wife is pretty accommodating.
She's the perfect person to take to the Coliseum for a USC home game: she doesn't mind running off to get hot dogs and beer in the middle of the 3rd quarter of the USC/Notre Dame game. |

When I was married we had this problem. I solved it by getting up and going to another room with a book, leaving her to watch the games in peace.

That's why God let man have more than one TV. One is for the man cave.

Tony has lost many heart breaking games.
I'm elated that this time he is on the other end of things. Next weeks game at Philly should be most interesting. |

Lol, depends what you mean by "irrelevant things" and "important games". I know you classified important games for you already. I'm not crazy into watching football I'm more of a bball watching guy. However I agree with you that it can be annoying when you are watching something important to you and the girl just starts talking in the middle of it somehow expecting a full conversation out of you during what your watching. With that being said I will say some guys consider too many games to be important and need to show their lady some love. It is great when both parties enjoy games together.

Heck of an ending. Man I have a good friend who is a Giants fan. Wife being an Eagles fan there is sort of that thing going on. BUT the Eagles really don't like Cowboys so she was actually rooting for the Giants for ONCE. That last drive was really great football.
But the decision to not go for the TD, take off more time and all that really came back bad on the coach!
