OK in a younger time I was sort of a car guy. Rebuilt cars, street raced and so forth. But when computers became more a part of the car than the engine, I started to become obsolete REALLY fast.
Well my spiral into ignorance is absolute now. Since purchasing my 2010 Mustang, I have not done a single thing to it. Not turned one wrench, not changed oil, NOT ONE THING. I look at the engine it might as well be the space shuttle. For all I know it actually is. So today I go to have the oil changed, the brakes worked and just checked up. Over 100,000 miles and it is still working. SO on the way the engine light comes on. They will check the codes and let me know. He tells me it is the "gas cap". Yep environmental regulations being what they are if too much vapors get out with a loose gas cap, the light comes on. Either that or the head gasket is blown. Multi purpose light. Makes sense. Less gas vapors, less environmental damage, better for the engine also. Win/win. Here is the problem. My Mustang (And anyone's for that matter.) DOES NOT HAVE A GAS CAP! They are built without them. So a gas cap I do not have caused the engine light to come on. I am afraid I have to tap out. I know NOTHING about cars any more.

Have you tried a gas cork?

Believe it or not they shove some funnel in and it cleans the gunk, and lets the thing seat properly. All fixed.

Sounds like cars are finally starting to catch up to women.

Yeah, no matter how much you'd like too, I'd recommend against it.

You haven't changed your oil for 100,000 miles? I may have misread that but that doesn't seem to be good! I know full synthetics can go quite a while longer than conventional but I didn't think that long.
On another note, do you have a V6 or V8? I have a '98 GT that has a built DSS forged block, Vortech supercharger and a Snow methanol injection kit. A lot of fun but I'm selling it :/

I guess when I read that you didn't do one thing, to include changing the oil, that meant that someone else changed it. Makes sense. Have you swapped out the gears in the rear? If not, .373's are a good mix between performance and drivability imo and adds a good amount of punch when you hit the gas. You should post up some pics when you get a chance!

My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
