What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about?
My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums. |

Now, what about the way WE react to these allergies? Is it reasonable to expect the majority of the people to have to bend to a small minority? Or is it best that those with the actual allergies have to make the adjustments? Before you call someone else a liar, you might well look in the mirror. Sounds like projection to me. |

I still have trouble laughing at the misfortune of others, much less their deaths.

I was suggesting no such thing. You, Ed, are just as much a rabble-rouser as the individual you seem to feel the need to jump in an defend. You want to create drama by not even allowing someone to expand upon a post. In fact I am quite compassionate and empathic, it's just that I feel empathy for ALL parties. You seem to only care about those with whom you agree. I'll be happy to explain if you are man enough to listen. However, I suspect you will just claim I am "backing out" since you don't REALLY care to listen with an open mind. |

In fact, I am very much in favor of accommodating people's needs, but within reason. For example, in my school we had a table at which people with peanut allergies could have lunch. Friends were welcome to join them, as long as they chose not to eat peanut products. That is a reasonable accommodation, and one that apparently worked, because in 17 years nobody had a severe allergic reaction that I am aware of (that's 600 kids X 180 lunch periods X 17 years = approximately 1,836,000 lunches consumed without a severe allergic reaction). What would be UNreasonable is for almost 2 million lunches to be consumed without a peanut butter sandwich, peanut butter cup, or Nutter Butter cookie because a few had allergies. Had you been man enough to ask me for clarification before making reckless inflammatory statements, we could have avoided this. |

I for one would not suspect you of backing out. I think you have integrity and the courage of your convictions.

If I were to back out, I would do so by admitting if I was wrong (like I did in our discussion about "origin" TV shows). I am not above doing that. But in this case, Bob chose to attack me by attributing things to me that are inaccurate.
