I want to print out an email. It's in black and white. My printer refuses to print it because it says I need to replace my yellow ink cartridge. Why?

I can think of three possibile answers to this...
1. Your printer software is screwed up... Re install it. 2. There is a hidden color graphic in the e-mail that you are not aware of . 3. (The most likely and easy to fix) You have the printer set to print in greyscale. As such it will use a combination of different colors to make different shades and tones. Set the printer for "Black and white" printing and all should be well. In case of the second one, use cut and paste, or copy and paste to put the e-m,ail into a word processing document. This will make the graphic show up and you can delete it.

Some printers will automatically shut you down if you run dry on any cartridge. My Epson does that. It would tick me off but I buy the Chinese Ebay cartridges at about $1.15 each, so I have 2-3 backup sets all the time.
