My wife has a wide variety of Christmas music CDs, which she decided to play this evening. The CD player is set on random, so we get quite a variety.

I have to admit than Manheim Steamroller has one of the greatest Christmas music albums I've ever encountered. Their arrangement of Deck the Halls is awesome.

As we're entering the Christmas season - and especially as my knee surgery approaches - I really enjoy how Christmas music lifts my spirit.

Getting ready for my annual commuting Messiah marathon. Probably start toward the end of next week.

Christmas number ones are normally cheerful also; some over here have been well odd but make me smile.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

My wife absolutely HATES Christmas music. Can't stand to listen to any of it. Except, of course, the songs on our own Christmas CD.

On the way to an from work, I lusten to Messiah. I typically hear the entire oratorio 3 or 4 times in the week or two before Christmas break.

This has been my favorite Christmas music for a long time.

Our vocal band does a killer version of "Oh Holy Night" as well.

I have always loved

Noël -- a Christmas album by Joan Baez, released in 1966

Incredible carols in several languages -- and fun because no one recognizes who is singing.

I dislike music in general, but I reserve particular venom for the spewings of Cliff Richard. His christmas songs are excrement for the ears. The only side of Christmas that doesn't appeal to me.

As to songs, I quite like the sound of old Latin hymns. Adeste Fideles and Gaudete, etc. Makes me wish I had paid more attention to the Latin in school.

I was slated to play bass on O Come O Come Emmanuel this morning at church. Got there and discovered it was all in the wrong key, and didn't have enough time to practice with the new chords. So I sang bass instead Smile
Love those old style Christmas hymns.

I've been partial recently to Tom Jones's various versions of "Mary's Boy Child".

I mostly prefer 'classical' voices over pop, but that man's voice is a force of nature.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

For me, Harry Belafonte owns that song. My mom always played it at Christmas.

I know this is both cliche and hipster at this point, but I don't care, I still like hearing Vince Guaraldi's Charlie "A Brown Christmas music." It's sad and joyful brilliance.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
