I've posted an additional 140 book table of content listings to my website at: http://magicref.tripod.com/books.htm
For those who aren't familiar, it is a resource for magicians listing thousands of magic book tables of content. It can help you see what's in a book before you buy it, to help locate a routine that you've been looking for, or to research a particular magic effect. As a tip, you can use Google search to find entries using the following method: In the Google search bar, type, "site:magicref.tripod.com <search term>", putting your search term after the .com, and WITHOUT the <> marks. This will search only the specified website for the terms you enter. This method may also work with other Search tools. Also, you can include a phrase in quotes if you are searching for something more specific, such as "color changing knives" (though be careful with that, in this example the search wouldn't include an entry for "color changing knife", or "colour changing knives" if the British spelling were used). My website is only one of several where you can find good information of the contents of magic books. Some others are: Chris Wasshuber's Lybrary.com site: Chris lists the table of contents for a majority of the magic e-books he sells. See Lybrary.com Denis Behr: Denis has an excellent custom database he has created for his website. His book listings provide not only the contents, but also information on the card sleights used. There are fewer books here but the contents are of very high qualilty, and you can search right from the website: http://www.conjuringarchive.com/ Jacky Kahan's Magicbooks.be: You have to regsister, but Jacky's site has a ton of listings. http://magicbooks.be Hope this helps! Thank you Doug for all of your work! Your website has been a valuable resource for checking the table of contents in magic books. I have added or rejected certain books for my collection on this alone. Your color changing knife page is a godsend to those just getting into this effect, and for veterans as well.

One of the challenges in maintaining a website like this one is that on the one hand I'm currently trying to reduce my library to a managable size, but when I keep going through new book contents, I'm always finding new books I want to add! Well, there are certainly worse problems to have.
It really is a lot of fun finding new books to add - but it is time consuming. That's one advantage of Kahan's site at Magicbooks.be - I'm pretty sure there users can add their own books to the site without Jackey needing to intervene. My site is very no-frills with no interaction! |

Doug, I've used your site a lot over the years. It's extremely useful.
Thank you. |
