I've had this little gem from Jef Eaton for a few weeks, and noticed there doesn't seem to be a review of Wilbur the Worm here. I suspect Jef may not make many of these, as there's clearly a lot of work in the manufacture. You can find Wilbur here: http://www.kandumagic.com/products.htm
It's a beautifully made prop, if you have any of Jef's products you'll know how good they look, and easy to repair/replace things like rubber bands, etc. This prop has several animations, which is what makes it an absolute riot. Wilbur's House is really cute, the kids immediately adore the prop, it colourful, intriguing, gets their imaginations going right away. There is a sign saying "Wilbur the Mind Reading Worm" which falls first one side, then the other, then drops to the floor... The Worm is then seen behind the front door as he dashes past. Plenty of look-don't-see here. You try the door but it won't open, then as you're not looking the roof lifts up and Wilbur pops his head out. This animation is brilliant and the kids go nuts! Eventually you get hold of Wilbur, more gags, and perform a simple card trick. He takes his bow, and you put him back in the house. He keeps popping out for one more round of applause from the kids......Then, as you put the prop away, Wilbur leaps out into the audience. It's a fab routine, very easy to do (self-working, essentially), and I can't explain just how much the kids adore Wilbur. I think it's because the house looks so gorgeous, and Wilbur turns out to be a bit of yellow rope with two eyes glued on. There's something about the logic of having such a delightful house for a bit of old rope that appeals to kids. Because although their eyes see a bit of yellow rope, their minds see Wilbur the Worm. And that's magic....... |

I agree with you about the colors and style. It seems like a great routine. It is a nice size. I also like the length of the routine.
I was afraid it would not be in stock. It is. I just ordered one. Thanks Potty. |

Thanks Doug for the nice review on the Wilbur trick. They were a "bear" to build and we won't make any more.
We have a few new ideas for more animation props and will continue designing and putting out fun stuff for kids entertainers. Thanks again for all the support. Jef
