The gimmick for Melt and Now U C It is the same, you can find the original idea in T Nelson Down's "Modern Coin Manipulation" from 1900.

You know, I almost bought that today while shopping for more ebooks to load on my Palm. I didn't, mostly because MCM and Bobo's would have filled the thing to capacity. I need more memory!
I'm liking the ebook thing. Time to shop for a better PDA. -Mike |

That's right folks, and the hooked coin too. And even some ideas for using a ^ coin.
And some tricks using stuff that is even more technical and impressive. Gaffs that look like a large stack of coins. Things that shoot coins into a glass... impressive stuff there.

Ok.... I get e[ and [, also I think I get [m] coin and [s] coin... Is there any symbol for a c/s coin yet?
Anyway.... I'm guessing ^ is an f. coin? Hehe don't want to get left behind with the lingo [:::::{}========[]==> ^^^^^^ That's my Card sword trick. |

The abbreviation for a C/S coin is "C/S".

How about "[$"

That would work for larger coins. Then we'd need [1/4 and [1/2 too wouldn't we? This is starting to drive my spell checker batty.

The original intent was to avoid using words like flipper, expanded, cut-down, folder in direct context on the open threads of the café.
a ] is a ], regardless of coin used. e] and c] are just a way to distinguish the expanded from the cut-down versions. If the Half Rimmed ] really takes off in utility beyond Steve Ducheck's stuff and the expensive visual coins across, we might want a shorthand for that too. Are we good with sun&moon or sun/moon for that gaff? Not a fan of "S/M" as shorthand. Swaddling coin seems good for that gaff some folks have been calling by the name of a dolphin.

Well, I bought it, but there was an error with my computer that neither I, nor Ellusionist could solve, so I ended up getting a refund. That is pretty disappointing after finally going ahead with purchase. As that has been my only purchase from Ellusionist, I doubt I will return much.

Does anybody remember a thing called, I think, "Magician's Dream"? Tannens sold it a long time ago. It was basically a waist topit. You could accomplish any of the effects in that "Revolution" demo video wearing one of those, coupled with a simple flick of the thumb. (Funny thing though, a few years ago the Magician's Dream gimmick worked better for me than it would these days. Time to start doing some sit-ups I guess!) I don't know if that's what's going on in their demo video, and sure wouldn't waste $17.00 to find out. After you've been in magic for a while, I think half of the fun is figuring out your own ways of accomplishing the "new" effects you see advertised. Cheaper too.

Yes Randwill, And for some reason I also associate that with Fred Bauman.

I made one once from on old pocket case for eyeglasses.
However, the trick in question most likely uses your apparel; this of course must be done while not wearing a jacket and most likely would require a simple adjustment before the move can be deployed. |

I've always thought it'd be cool to have a Belly Servant (magicians dream, etc.) that had a path/tunnel to your side pants pocket (kinda like what Ammar did with the topit.)
Lots of possibilities... |

Doug,
I think there was some sort of servante on the market that did in fact have a side tunnel to the pants pocket. I can't remember the name of it or who was selling it, but for some reason the name John (Carney or Cornelius, perhaps?) comes to mind. I seem to recall that it ran about 100 dollars, and Mike Close wasn't all that in favor of it in magic, simply because you needed the exact body size to make it work for you. The Missing Link? That sounds sort of familiar...Well I just re-read the post and realized that I wasn't that much help. Maybe someone else knows what I'm babbling about. Zach

The effect as 'created' by Kevin Parker is not new. I have a version of it on my DVD Mindbenders. Its a move used in the coin routine. I adapted it from a move published by Meir Yedid in Apocolypse. He called it the Almost Perfect Coin Vanish. His handling was a bit contrived, so I simplified it in my routine.
One thing that both Meir and I did that is not done in this video, is vanish the coin at a moment of misdirection. We did not do it during a moment when everyone is staring right at your hands. Something to think about. Chad |

Yeah Ellusionist is pretty ridiculous with its purchasing process. I bought revolution, and it took about half an hour just to figure out how to work the stupid download opens, and then they try to trick you with the whole password thing.... I'm glad they are trying to keep it a secrect, however, if you buy the trick, they should make an easier process to retrieve it.

You can say what you want, but I think most people that bought "revolution" felt disapointed at first. But later on found out what a great ice breaker it is.
