I'll try in this forum, since I think it gets more traffic:
Anyone know a lot about the varieties of Johnny Wong coins? Send me a PM or respond to my thread here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......513701#6 In particular, I'm curious about Trinity, Perfect Power 3 and Super Power 4. Thanks! |

I just received Trinity Coin Set (with DVD) by Johnny Wong on Thursday this week and it cost $89.99. It is really an amazing gimmick. One coin turns into 3 coins and back to one again. It is examinable before and after the trick which sold me on it. The demo video shows 3 silver coins turning into 3 brass coins. You would have to buy the brass coins from you favorite magic store. There are several other tricks you can do with this coin listed on the ad at your favorite magic store. It takes a little practice. Within about an hour I was able to make it look pretty good. Once you see the gimmicked coin and how it works, you just have to follow Johnny on the DVD. The DVD also shows an over the shoulder version so you can follow along with him. It is expensive but not as expensive as a Lassen or Schoolcraft coin.

Thanks for sharing, and welcome to the Café.
That said, it's not really clear to me what your review adds to the thread. From what I know of the Trinity set, it's not examinable, and it doesn't really help to answer how the sets are different, which is really what I was trying to understand at the time. I'd still be interested in a comparison of these, should anyone know more and be willing to PM me. |

Perfect Power 3 from Penguin Magic is screwed up. First I got 1 set. One half of the split coin has kevlar and the other half does not. Then I ordered 2 more sets and both halves of the split coin had kevlar on them which made them slide smoothly. I sold one on ebay. (That was a stupid move). Then I ordered another set and both pieces of the split coin had NO kevlar and they don't slide smooth. And the front of the half dollar has a black mark on it which won't come off. Now I'm ****ed off. You never know what you're going to get!

In my previous post, I meant teflon, not kevlar. Sorry.
