Hey all!
Been meaning to add a ghost tube for my kid show opener. Specifically the Barry Mitchell wand ghost tube , I believe is the name Does anyone here use a ghost tube in their kid show act? How's it play out for you? Any load ideas? And any chance someone can point me in the direction of finding that Barry Mitchell ghost wand tube? Thanks all |

I know what a ghost tube is. I have Roy Mayer's. It's a PROP. I don't have the slightest idea what Mr. Mitchell's "ghost tube with a wand" is.
The PROP is practical. When I used to do family evening shows, occasionally, I used Roy Mayer's routine (a much simplified "Ade Duval" routine) when the tambourine was not practical. With either prop, I could "fill the stage" with silks, including a 6 foot dragon.

Thanks for the reply!
I'll see if I can get a link or picture of it. And that's exactly what I'm thinking of doing silks Was wondering if spring bills or spring flowers would be able to be produced? |

I do not believe that Barry currently produces the Ghost Wand Tube. It was basically a Ghost Tube painted to look like a large magic wand. I produce silks, sponge balls, spring flowers, latex fruit, and a number of other items from it. You can email Barry at barrymitchell1@me.com and ask about the Ghost Wand Tube. He also offers a couple of excellent DVDs demonstrating his use of the tube.

If you already have a Pop-Away Wand, you can learn how to use it to make massive productions of silks and flowers after you are bored with just popping the ends off, from The Wizards' Journal #29, item 5.

There is a great routine for one in Quentin Reynolds new DVD set Bring Back the Schtick. I just ordered a Ghost Tube for it.

Right Ricky! THE "EXCEPTION" PROVES THE RULE"!!! Quentin is an OLD friend. He KNOWS what "works". You can add your own little "personality" bits, and, thus make the routine, YOURS!
I "took" Frank Ducrot's ancient "20th Century Silks PROP", and just "adapted" the premise. The props fit in a pocket! It's next to closing in the elementary school program!

I have done the phantom tube for years. You have to sell it. I do takes, double takes and other facial expressions to register the effect. It always gets a good response. It leads me into a larger tie dye production and them by large fountain of silks.
Times I hate doing it but it is too strong to take out. Richard
