I've had a YT account for years under a Yahoo email address/username.
When I got an Android phone a few years later (after having used an Apple phone for awhile) I created a Google account with a Gmail address. I didn't use that Gmail address for anything but Google Play store (for apps), but I recently started putting photos and contacts on that Google account. Now, for some reason, my Youtube app on my Android phone suddenly/automatically signed in on that Gmail account, which has nothing. Fine, I thought, I'll just sign out of that and sign into my regular YT account like I do on my desktop... So I sign out and try to sign back in... But when I try to sign in, it shows my Google account address - where I have nothing on Youtube - but there is a "+" sign, which I take to mean "add an account". I click on the plus - hoping to be able to sign in to my regular YT account... Unfortunately, it then asks "Enter the current PIN". I don't have a PIN, and never created one. Bottom line, I cannot log into my Youtube account on my Android phone. I tried going to my desktop, and changing my old YT account's email to my current Google account's email, to try and bring everything in line onto a single email/username, but it says it can't accept a Gmail address as the primary email - which I thought was VERY odd! It's not the end of the world, of course - all it means is that I can't access my current YT account on my phone, but I find it odd and irritating that I'm being asked to provide a PIN that I never created in order to log into my current YT on my Android phone. Am I missing something obvious? Any help would be appreciated.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".
