Save your money and get something that will serve you better. I have tried the Happy Amp and it made me SAD. The Florida PAS sound systems are not good at all.
However, what you will find on the Café' is that many people love their Happy Amps. And those are the people who do not know what good sounds quality is. They will say it is the best thing since sliced bread. But they are truly pure JUNK. Do not waste your money. Now if you want to waste your money you can purchase either a NADY or a HISONIC sound system with the same features as the Happy Amp for right around $ 100-120 dollars. SAVE YOUR MONEY and get a decent sound system. Rodney

I bought the florida system when I was very new to sound systems for magic.
It's HORRIBLE!!!!!! It's also very expensive for what you get. One of my biggest regrets in a magic purchase. I later bought the fender passport. Descent except for large and/or outdoor events. But it has power requirements unless you purchase the additional odd battery add-ons. I also bought a pair of JBL EON G10s. Awesome but still required power so not great for outdoors. Also takes time finding power, running extension cords, etc. Then I found the holy grail: Carvin StageMate. Not as loud as the JBLs but still very nice and I rarely EVER needed that level of volume. Battery powered, extra speaker friendly, runs on AC if you want to, etc. So... If I was just starting I would want these things: 1. Everything runs on battery (or AC). This saves a huge amount of time in setup/take-down and/or searching for power. Not to mention not needing to bring extension cords. 2. I can purchase more later to fill lager rooms/halls and still make use of initial purchase. 3. I can use my microphone only and plug into a house system allowing me to not even bring (or unload) my system at all. 4. Great professional sound. How to get battery powered mic: See the Sennheiser 100 eng g3 as an example I believe there are other cheaper makes/models. this is what I use. I also use a cheap sennhieser hyper-cardiod (directional) great sounding headset microphone for no feedback AT ALL EVER!!! How to get battery powered PA that actually sounds good: This is the new model and has Bluetooth as well as other features http://carvinaudio.com/collections/s600 You can still find the Carvin StageMate 400 used on ebay, etc. Unless you're packing huge auditoriums and stadiums, this setup should do you just fine and you'll never regret buying various PA systems and wasting money. Plus you'll be set up in a matter of a couple minutes since there's no power to have to find/plug-in to. Also, if you're plugging into the house sound system, you just hand the sound guy your receiver and you put on the belt pack transmitter. Done! You leave your equipment in the car (this seems to be the most common for me these days). Any event where the single speaker would be "too much" wouldn't need to be an event where you'd need to bring a sound system anyway. For a small event, you bring one speaker and set it on a chair as you get bigger, you use a speaker stand. then a pair of speakers and a pair of stands then a column of speakers on either side. After that you'd be using the house system anyway or renting something huge. It's not a cheap solution but it's fast to set up, easy to use, high quality and one you will never regret and you can use in every situation. Period.
