The book is in the final stages. Yes, this is different from the traditional thumb ties.

I believe the description says it all. You can read about the effect at either http://www.WonderWizards.com.
If that doesn't help, e-mail me. I am hesitant to post here anything other than the description. Thanks!

My twin brother is a CSI in Texas.
He really gets into being able to take people down and restraining them. He knew the old thumb cuff trick. Maybe... Tim

On the WW site regarding this effect:
"A great price for the secrets Kenton has given to all but a select few, high-profile, clients." Huh?

Tarbell No. 4 describes more than a half-dozen different ties, using rope, tape, pipe cleaners, and rubberbands. It gives the basic routine, as well, and lays out the groundwork.
The Dai Vernon Book Of Magic describes Vernon's handling of the Ten ichi (?) tie, and a very complete routine. There are TT methods spread out all over the literature after that.

I've been curious about this also. I don't think the method is as important as the routining, but the method may allow for unique presentation. Kenton often has good presentaion ideas, but that's not mentioned in the ad.
Another good source for thumb ties is "THE ART OF ESCAPE VOL 7- THE THUMB TIE" By John Novak (Micky Hades pub). There are more thumb-tie methods out than I know what to do with. I love thumb ties and I've had fun with a few, but never featured in my show because I haven't found a routine that I really like.... Wondering if this might include something different in presentation...
