For anyone requiring prosthetic body parts (inc heads) for projects, Smooth-On might be of interest.
https://www.smooth-on.com/applications/ for US/North America. http://www.benam.co.uk/ for UK.

It certainly is Michael. Likewise https://www.polytek.com/ who do very similar products. You can imagine the possibilities for the illusion builder needing feet, hands, etc. Or even their own face/head reproduced perfectly! I've not had a chance to play with it yet (I intend casting my own figurines) but have been pondering the possibilities of making my own TT's, medallions, or just about any custom prop I might need.

When I'm not performing - I work as a special effects make-up artist for film/tv and we use smooth on stuff near everyday.
Some of the materials are finicky (for instance - platinum silicones like Eco flex, body double and dragon skin can be inhibited from curing when it comes in contact with sulfur and some epoxies).. And some of the materials have a pretty short shelf life once opened.. But they have some great products for sure! |
