This might already be addressed somewhere, but I could not find it. So...
What are some resources for learning paper money magic? It seems that both cards and coins have great classics that every magician should own, is there any such resources for paper money magic? Personally I ask this question with the desire to learn paper money magic slights rather than for using gimmicks. But for the sake of the forum as a whole I am open to hear about any great resources for learning paper money magic. |

HI IF YOU desire to learn paper money sleights, some of the best I have seen, beyond bill switches are on Kyle LIttleton's 400 Lux
what is amazing is that magicians will spend 100's of hours learning card sleights when nobody cares about cards any more. but when it comes to money , something everyone is interested in, few people learn more than a bill switch. I think 400 Lux shows that you can learn to handle bills kind of like cards. so to me, it is an excellent find for what you are talking about. |

I published a number of effects with bills on the Perverse Magic thread of the Genii Forum.
As to books there are a number including, Hugard's Money Magic, Modern Magic Manual, Tarbell and, of course the magazines including Apocalypse. |

I second "Switch" by John Lovick.
Cool recommendation on Kyle LIttleton's 400 Lux by the way. |

Thank you all for advice so far.
I have yet to commit to anything, but I have a few questions. Based on what I have read it seem like Kyle Littleton's 400 Lux allows one to perfom a single trick. Can the sleight used be applied to other tricks to produce other effects. Also because it ultimately seem like a multiple bill switch would it be possible to find a way to preform it just learning from "Switch" by John Lovick. I assume the "Switch" by John Lovick has multiple presentations that allow a magician to produce multiple effects. But if I am wrong in this please correct me. I like the idea of Kyle Littleton's 400 Lux but I also try to avoid spending money on a product that only allows me to preform one trick with one effect. I am also in the process of looking up the books mentioned by Gerald so thanks every one for all the advice. So if any one has any thoughts on what I asked and said above please share that. And if there are any more resources the community should know about please let us know. |

Mike Bornstein had several small books on paper money magic.
Kaufman's Collected Almanac and Japan Ingenious also have some good effects.

There are some good bill effects in volume 1 of Art of Astonishment by Paul Harris.

Some quotes from an earlier thread about "Switch" :
Quote:
"Switch" is over 350 pages, over 900 illustrations, and a virtual who's who of contributors. Everything in it is "A" material. All the fluff has been cut out. One of the highlights of the book, in my opinion, was that we were able to track down Vlado, the guy who actually invented the bill switch and from who's handling many other handlings evolved. Quote:

The TA pen is a paper/bill switching or changing device made by Paul Harris for his TA Astonishment 9 DVD series. Read more about this series here: http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/1926
