I've been thinking the same thing ...

Bob's disappearance is a mystery to me as he vanished while I was away. I asked about him when I came back but everybody went quiet.

Bob's health has declined recently. Here's a thread that discusses it a bit.

I was about to write my usual reply of, "My pleasure", but, to be honest, it isn't remotely my pleasure. I'd be pleased if Bob were in perfect health. Frankly, I hate having to be the bearer of bad news. Bob's a dear friend (whom, interestingly, I've never met . . . at least, not in person), and the fact that he's not doing well pains me severely.

I am very sorry to hear that. Bob was an inspiration when I was a young magician - his thinking seemed to resonate with me far more than most of the books I read. And on the Café he was intelligent, warm, friendly and helpful. I hope to see him back - both here and healthwise.
