I just do my usual show but I guess you could...
Think pretty silk magic (which I already have). Produce a necklace that they can keep. This can be a separate beads and string brought together magically to make a necklace. Make sure the necklace you choose is age appropriate (IE choking hazard). The one where you produce flower boxes from a bag is pretty (but I'm guessing a pain to put back in your case with Kids in the same room LOL). You should get some input from someone who does this in a Birthday Party environment. -Mary Mowder |

The Wizards' Journal #14 has Spellbinder's e-Book on "Magic With Themed Party Goods." There you will find lots of uses for Princess Party Themed goods; paper plates, napkins, cups, tablecloths, etc. The ones Spellbinder uses to illustrate the various tricks are based on the theme of Halloween, but you can easily adapt the tricks for any party theme- Spiderman®, Sponge Bob®, Barbie®, Dora®... plus any of the popular Princess characters.

You could do a opening sequence with Rocky Raccoon and introduce him as Meeko from Pocahontas, and since Meeko's character is mischievous by nature he could lend himself to many routines where things put in pockets or hidden seem to have found there way to Meeko's Possession. Since you can do a lot of business and by play with Rocky he can make for a a great warm up for the kids.
You could make up a heap of Buddha papers and do a Princess and a Pea test with a audience member. Get a few pincushions and place them over each set of papers and get the helper to see if they can feel the pea through the cushions and with the Buddha papers you always have control of the the outcome. You could do a prediction trick using the PATEO force and predict Cinderellas Shoe. Maybe use a balloon sword in some sort of routine with a Mulan theme. Magically Aus |

This post reminds me of the importance of learning principles that can apply to
things like store bought props. Those stores can be magic, Walmart or thrift.

I would just do my regular show.
They love my show despite the lack of princess content. They are Kids. I've never liked the Princess movement. Doesn't seem quite Democratic to me. And marrying the Prince to gain status?..., don't get me started. LOL Monte Python Clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8bqQ-C1PSE -Mary Mowder |

Necklace Quest by Ralph the Great.
One is for sale right now on the Café. I do it in all my shows. It's a great routine and you get to say your name a lot too.

Bill Abbott's Princess & the Pea is a modern classic!
I highly recommend it. |

Women can be superheroes. Note the current popularity of Wonder Woman. There are cards for her and other women superheroes.

Boys like superheros because of the power fantasy... we like to imagine that we are that hero with all the power that we don't have in real life. Mom tells us to get dressed, so we do. Teacher tells us to read our books, so we do. Kids have little agency in their lives. But superheros have this incredible power. It turns out that girls like that, too. Whether it's Elsa or Wonder Woman, girls respond to a super powered role model. Revolutionary concept, I know.
