Ive been "playing with fire" since I was little but never as an act or prefessionally. However, I have an opportunity to audition with a group at a ren faire and they want me to do some fire magic (and yes, I have plenty of time to practice Im asking for suggestions or ideas or sources on how to create a flame/fire/spark shooting STAFF (its a ren faire- so I have to havea staff not a wand) or a safe, easy to conceal hand held device that cannot bee seen from 5-10ft away (the stage is very close to the audience). I appreciate any help. thanks.

A hand held flash gun unit is always good, can be concealed easily in the hand using the clips and fires a ball of fire about 10ft. You can also get them double barrelled. Best place to buy them is a local stage supplier.

Thanks for the info- Im just concerned about concealment. I was checking out houseoffire.com and saw the flash (also the finger shooter looked like fun) Are these multi use or one use then reload?

I believe off the top of my head that the finger flasher is a one off and reload, sure it is flash paper if I remember rightly. Someone else may be able to correct me on this.
Just found this qoute in another topic "Finger flasher is basically a flint which sparks into a cup that holds flash paper or cotton" hope that helps |

Thanks, but I think that "the flash" and "the shooting finger" are different. Supposedly neither require flint and electronically activated. I found them at "House of fire.." Please let me know if I'm wrong about this.

Personally I'm not sure to be honest. But there will be someone here that has used or knows of them.

The guitar is basically a funkin ring which is a grindstone on a motor with a flint for sparks.

Kinda reminds me of the "grinder girl" on the David Letterman Show.
