I am a firm believer that mentalism can be presented successfully for kids. I have done this numerous times and made almost no modification to my standard programs. Some of these performances were funny and had physical comedy, and others were just pure demonstrations of telepathy and such.
I am really intrigued by the fact that many (most) kids games are based on mentalist premises, such as Paper, Rock, Scissors, hidden object (or person) location, which hand, I'm thinking of an animal, hangman, etc... I am wondering if anyone here has had luck in playing, or presenting, games such as this for children. By they way, my local Dollar Tree has nice alphabet flash cards. I'm trying to collect a dozen or more packs, so that I can make some 50/50 decks, or maybe one way decks, and use them in place of playing cards. I have the book about presenting mentalism to kids by Paul Romhany, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Thanks in advance for your thoughts, and I'm looking forward to the conversation. Check out Deja Zoo.
I don't perform it quite as the original. I have the kids read my mind. There are different ways this could be presented as Mental Magic. -Mary Mowder |

Thanks, Mary. That's a great example of the "I'm thinking of an animal" game. I like very much the idea of "making the children the clever ones."
So, predictions can be inverted to make children always win at guessing games. Twenty questions, played telepathically, for example, and at the end their drawing of an animal (or object) perfectly matches the performer's, for example. That's very interesting. |

Check out our SuperHeroes Interactive Routine. (see my website).
It packs flat, plays big, features a young assistant, and gets huge reactions from the crowd. |

I am very sorry to lose him. |
