Any ideas or suggestions?

I placed an order with Viking Magic on Nov. 21. It was shipped next day and I got a tracking number.

The parcel hit the sorting facility in Jamaica NY on Nov. 26 and nothing has happened since.

Now, I know that it's a busy time of year, but a month in a postal station mid-route seems unreasonable.

I tried to contact USPS. I cannot use their online form or 1-800 number because I am outside the US. (Both systems stop as soon as I cannot give a ZIP code). I cannot contact Canada Post, as they haven't handled the package yet.

So I tried contacting Viking to see if they would initiate the action. Viking has not answered my emails. On the Viking site, it says "Our responsibility ends once we hand your package to a carrier. Any loss or damage not covered by insurance becomes your responsibility."

So I'm stuck. Viking has my money. USPS has my props. And I seem to have no way to move forward.

Anyone able to shed some light on this silly situation?

Thanks

John

Hi Mr. Magnus,

Happy Holiday!

Try calling the post office @ 1-718-656-6433/This sorting facility is on the JFK Airport grounds. (Where I believe your package ended-up?)

Good luck!

Thanks Sixten. They're closed today. I'll try tomorrow.

Anyone had success calling such a busy office? Or am I heading for 2 hours of long distance on hold?

I have been able to use Skype to make 800 number phone calls from here for free. Seems it should work from Canada as well.
