Hey folks,
I bought this book back in 2010 and just went online looking to sell it, and checked Amazon for a price comparison. I was blown away and shocked when all these stores are seemingly selling it for over $1000? I see that it's out of print but can anyone update me to the reality of the possible demand to this book. I've been out of the magic/hypnosis scene for quite some time and appreciate your thoughts! Thanks, Bryan |

There is a big difference in listing a book on Amazon for $1000 and selling a book for $1000 It tends to be a pretty misleading place to check prices for out of print books as you can list them for what ever you want and let it sit there until someone makes an offer you are will to take. Have you searched the buy and sell forums here to see if it has sold reciently? H & R books is another good place to look to see if they have secondhand copies listed as they will have it properly priced for the market. Or even Ebay as you can see what something actually sells for (you can buy it from someone in Australia on Ebay right now for about $40us)

Is the book worth it? Did you learn anything and find it to be a good read? I don't think I'd ever pay $1000 for a book. But if it's good, I might be interested in purchasing a copy for $40. Would love to hear your thoughts on it.

It really depends what you already know and where you are at in the educational and performing process. It was nothing new for me but I've been doing this for 30 years. To someone just approaching hypnosis, it may all be new and good.

Try searching completed sales on eBay. If the book is somehow commanding more than you think it might, there is no reason to sell yourself short.

One thing to keep in mind is that a number of used book sellers do their pricing done automatically by computer algorithms. This works well for books with dozens of copies being sold all the time, but it can create weird consequences when there are only two people selling a book and they're both using bots. In those case, you can get a feedback loop that drives the prices sky-high even though no human would ever actually buy the book at that price.
Colinj's advice to search on ebay is spot on. My added tip is to make sure you search SOLD auctions, not just ENDED auctions. |

I bought this book a few months ago for +/- 20 GBP on Abebooks.
