Today the wife and I had to wait on a load here in LA California. Since it wasn't gonna be ready for over q8 hours we decided to catch an Uber up to Hollywood Blvd. It was definitely a site to see. There were lots of costume characters but very few other buskers. We saw three statues, two singers, people selling cds, people offering pictures with large snakes, sidewalk vendors, and only one magician.
He was a really nice gentleman from the Uk. I enjoyed his show and he had a couple really cool effects. His costume was very over the top and a joy to behold. We talked for a bit and had a good time. It doesn't look like this area is very conducive to a circle or even half circle show. There were a couple pitches that could hold a half circle but they seemed to be taken by regular buskers. I look forward to coming back one day and trying my hand |

Hey Kyoki,
I love reading where you all get sent. You're like a pin-ball in a big table! How do you find the inner-cities, in the U.S. to be? Are they Busked? ,...or basically just the tourist areas? How's the parking? ,..with your rig? I'd be curious. (here in Europe, our inner-city parking is drying up,....for trucks.) Have a good journey. Keep it between the trees(!). And don't get 'tilted'. 😊 gallagher |

Hello Gallagher,
It's never a dull day working as a trucker. From what I've seen, mostly just the industrial districts of the inner-city, busking is non existent there. However, we have only gone to a small area in many of the cities we visit. We may go to LA but only get to see a small section. That said I've never seen a busker in any non touristy areas of the cities we've been to. They only seem to congregate in tourist areas. Parking is crazy. Some cities have a couple truck stops for parking but they are usually away from things to do and are tucked near the industrial disrrict or edge of the city. It's near impossible to find good parking the LA area. They don't seem to like trucks there. Uber has really helped truckers. A cab ride that would have cost 70 dollars to get us somewhere and back now only cost 25. That's how we got up to Hollywood Blvd. Hope tjat came out coherently. I just finoshed my shift and am getting ready for bed. Not sure if I wrote about our adventures in Nashville or not. I'll try to do that next. Can't wait to hear of your next adventure. Kyoki |
