I normally use Ring Flight Revolution, but I recently saw this new ring flight manufactured by Scott Alexander. I like the fact that is has a zipper to give an extra layer for impposibility when showing the ring attached to the key clasp, that it uses a heavy kevlar cord, and that it uses a non locking reel so you do not have to worry if the locking mechanism does not immediately unlock. It is a tad expensive though, but looks and sounds very well made. I don't think it comes with any routines, but the one he id on his first Penguin Christmas lecture was very good or you can purhcase his stage routine separately or it is relatively easy to come up with your own. This is the ad from Hocus-Pocus:
Retail: $250.00 FINALLY! Scott Alexander was searching for a Ring Flight unit that covered all the parameters he wanted in this piece of equipment, to make Al Koran's Flying Ring safe, strong and reliable. He wanted one with a zip around closure to provide an extra layer of mystery and ease of opening. He didn't just want the ring on a clump of keys. He couldn't find one so....So he made it himself. Scott Alexander's Super Ring Flight is definitely the best one you will find for a working pro. It is not only a work of art, but a "work horse" that you can use for your entire career, both in a close up setting and on stage. Here are some of the features that Scott put into this version, which make it the final word in Ring Flights. -Non Locking smooth action -Zip around closure - easy to reveal the ring - no fumbling -Extra pocket for cards or money -Sturdy 5 inch by 2.5 inch size I can even use on stage -Easy load and release lobster clasp -Super Strong, quiet, Kevlar cord -Perfect tension an drag to allow safe transport of ring -Made of Bicast Leather will not warp or change shape This unit has them all! This is the only Ring Flight you will ever need! Comes with Key Case (with keys) and written instructions. Close Details erved

Well
I just bought the fob by propdog I did look around first And I couldn't justify the cost of this http://scottalexander.bigcartel.com/prod......ing-ring But it did interest me In the first Xmas Special does he cover that 'routine' ? Or is it just a basic one? Anyway for those interested the link to the OP http://scottalexander.bigcartel.com/prod......g-flight I'm not going to get it - as I only just bought the propdog one To me the fob - looks better than the zip bag... but what do I know Any info on the coverage of ring flight in the first xmas lecture - do let me know, as I may buy that Thanks |

Not saying that this product is not worthy of its own but I will never trade my RFR with this one. Pocket space is important for me. Very important. I usually attach my RFR along with my keys on my belt loop. So no pocket space. I understand the advantage of a zip bag. But if I want to add a layer of impossibility, I will just use my nest of wallets, which can be used for coins as well and other small objects.
