Hi, I have a question related to Superior Invisible Deck.
http://shop.conjuringarts.org/store/pc/S......1363.htm Someone told me that this invisible deck works because of the way they are manufactured and it doesn't use any roughing spray or chemicals. Is this true? If its not true, does anyone know any invisible deck that works without chemicals? Thanks! |

The deck is sealed so you can open it up in front of your audience and pass it off as a brand new deck of unprepared regular cards.

Does anyone have this deck? I think even my wife knows that a new deck when opened will be in new deck order... obviously an ID isn't going to be?

"X Marks the Spot" by Al-Quadir Marsh (formerly known as Wiz Kid Qua-Fiki) and published in The Wizards' Journal #35. You make it yourself from any two decks of cards and so can use card sizes from miniatures to ultra jumbos for stage if you want. The spectators get to handle the cards in Al-Quadir's routine, which also makes it unlike a chemical treated deck.

On Mar 5, 2017, obviously an ID isn't going to be? Think double deck. Still a big fuss for one little detail, IMHO.

Clicking on the link the OP provided, Product details are there.
"Product Details One of the greatest effects ever created, now available factory made and sealed! This is the best deck of cards made for this effect created to date. It features the Expert Playing Card Co.’s Superior Brand Classic playing cards, and matches the regular decks perfectly except for the seal, so you can instantly be sure which deck is which. The tuck case is a special synthetic paper that is water and tear resistant to make sure that this exquisite addition to your arsenal is ready whenever you need it. Works the same as the classic. No instructions included." I would guess they are the same as a regular old ID.

Of course the simplest and best (imho) is a index and a borrowed deck.

I got two decks of these in the mail today and they are very well made. They work like the other brands I have used over the years but I could "just barely" find a "glare" when held in very bright sunlight but couldn't feel anything "funny" on the backs due to the full coverage. I'm glad I snatched these up on sale along with a brick of their "Readers". The readers have a great feel to them overall and are decently marked. I can't wait for my regular decks to show up so I can compare all 3.

I bought one, unfortuneately the finish stopped acting like roughing within a dozen if not less uses.

I'm not saying they don't work, I am just saying that it seems "I" have to keep more pressure than I should to keep pairs from prematurely splitting. I have not used an invisible deck for a long time but I know they were not this "picky" about how you held them. Glad I got them on sale for about $4 ea. I may fix one up with some SF Spray. I do like the cards and will be using them at times. I got a brick of Readers on sale for $4 ea and picked up a brick ea of regular Red and Black backs along with a Fako deck. These will be used in "special situations".
