I was listening to Louie Armstrong's greatest hits in the car today. And wondered...who is sweet lucy brown? (mac the knife)
There are tons of other names or words or even sayings that are in songs or on TV that I have no clue why or how they are related. Anyway thought this was a good one to start. Please continue to list others. I know I have a bunch.

Mack the knife was a serial killer, pleasant huh. I think it's the first song ever recorded.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. There is a story that John Lennon's son came in with a picture and said it was "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". But I think this was just the late Mr Lennon checking how gullable we are and it really was just a way of referring to LSD.

I think Baba O'Riley is a refrence to Pete Townshend's Guru, Meher Baba. (Not certain on the spelling).

Sweet Lucy Brown was one of the actresses in the original production of The Threepenny Opera, by Kurt Weil. Lotte Lenya, also mentioned in the song was also in the production and is probably best known for playing Rosa Klebb in the James Bond film From Russia With Love.

She was the one with the switchblade shoe. Trivia. Ah, trivia!
