I use egg cartons. In a wide but shallow drawer.
Cut off a carton’s cardboard or styrofoam lid, and you have a nice, low-profile container, divided into 12 (or even 18) wide-open compartments. With its lid gone, the egg carton is short enough to fit nicely within a pretty shallow drawer. If the drawer is wide enough, you could even put two egg cartons within it, side by side. That’s a lot of small storage compartments! Each compartment can then hold one specific coin set. Tidily arranged, your various shell sets, copper/silver sets, Chinatown Half sets, Scotch & Soda, 2 Copper 1 Silver, Copper Silver Brass, folding coins, assorted small stacks of regular coins, et cetera, are all visible together at a glance, each in its own compartment, handily and instantly available at your fingertips. Egg cartons made for extra large/jumbo eggs will comfortably hold small stacks of dollar-sized coins. Ice trays might work too, but the ones I’ve seen seem perhaps a bit too small. (Do they make ice trays for jumbo ice cubes?) No more rummaging around through a pile of purses or wallets, searching for the right one(s). This is just for home storage, of course. When you prepare to perform, just grab the coin sets you plan to use, put them into pockets and/or purses, and off you go! (If it helps organizationally, you could label the interior bottom of each compartment, so you know where each set belongs when you return them after use — or just to help identify what a particular set actually is, if one day you happen to forget what you have, or no longer recognize something.)

All my coins are stored in Quivers, my Okito Boxes, and my wallet...
Had a Traveler.. it was nice... But the Quiver gets all my mileage. |
