To all of you American guys have a good Independence day. The day the Greatest nation was born. However you have the best native language and place names from Britain. I wonder if we have been credited properly for that?

Thanks Sybilmagic!
I don't believe that we have ever properly thanked England for those things. I guess we didn't know exactly who to thank. But I was just thinking the other day, how much easier it is, to have World Partner, like the U.K. when we can understand each other so well without an interpreter. (well most of the time, anyway..) But the worse part is that after we borrowed the Queens English, we have butchered it so! Anyone who thinks we still speak English, is sadly mistaken.. We speak American. And in my view, it lacks the character and richness of English. I may be a bit more aware of the langauage than others, as I have hosted numerous radio programs, announced many major events, and now do a lot of voice recording for the audio tacks in radio commercials and many on-line training courses. There was another thread here, about Grammar, and it didn't even begin to scratch the surface. But again, Friend, thanks for the language, and the many nice names that we have acquired from your lovely country! BroDavid
