A couple of weeks ago, the idea that vampires are "old hat, and not really valid horror material" was bandied about here.
The following news item recently was brough to my attention. Click Here!

Bill,
The story is amazing. Lots of ideas and possibilities there! I love this paragraph: "The first time, he (the vampire slayer) was frightened, so he had a little graveside drink, for courage. He ended up with a little too much courage and couldn't use the shovel. So the next night he returned, and with a proper amount of courage, was successful. " Thanks for share that! |

Hmmm... strange story, indeed. The thing that really gave me the willies was how the family drank the ashes of a corpses burned heart. That can't be healthy! Eew! Corpse drinking! Blech!

Yup, after they hacked the corpse to bits and did what they did... less tummy aches reported too.
That is in THEIR culture, with a 300 year old tradition of such beliefs and practices. It's not that they went away... they just found OTHER places and ways to thrive in our country.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

By the way Bill, right now in Venezuela there is a Vamire Epidemic. I could try to order some samples for you.

Has anyone travelled to ROMANIA or parts around there? I'd sure like to. You could play with some very strong and still currrent mythology.
