From the ad blurb $6. This is an introductory price and will go up to $12 on June 19th, 2017. This is a completely propless method for zodiac sign divination. You do not even need a pen and a paper. And the participant is not required to write or speak anything at all. The entire process takes less than a minute. To top it all, it is very easy to learn and perform. The simplicity of the principle is, at the same time, its true power and also its true disguise. This is a really cool method to have in your arsenal and can be performed impromptu anytime, anywhere to anyone. No Progressive Anagrams. No Branching Anagrams. No Math. No Dual Reality. No Reframes. No Verbal Jugglery. No Stooges. No Instant Stooges. If you want, you can also apply this system to divine the birth month of a participant. Or for that matter anything which has 12 variables. You can have a lot of fun learning and performing this. "Subtle, yet effective method to divine a zodiac sign or with a bit of creativity, other things. I will use it." - Marc Salem "It is very clever. I like the idea. I sincerely appreciate clever thinking even when it is not something within my own performance style. Good luck with this." - Richard Osterlind "I like it a lot. As always I like how your take on this principle making something more personal giving also a meaning to it. Well done my friend!" - Luca Volpe "This is another great effect from The Unknown Mentalist. A clever principle is explored further to create a pure prop-less effect. This is well worth knowing" - Marc Paul My Comments - By far the best, fastest, most direct, simple yet disguised propless method for zodiac divination. And the price is a steal. All the other sign divinations so far - big names, big methods, big prices, big processes - all suddenly seem so long winding and pricey and I've most of them.

At 6 bucks this was worth a punt. I personally wouldn't call this the best propless star sign divination, there are others I prefer but this would be absolutely perfect combined with a palm read. This is very clever. I don't personally love the method for getting the required info but with a little thing from Anneman this could be completely invisible and even a slightly simpler procedure although the technique I refer to takes practice. I have send my idea to the unknown mentalist.
Well worth $6 Mark |

Wonder how I missed this one. I generally track releases of my fav 3 - Unknown Mentalist, Matt Mello and Sudo Nimh. I mean my fav 3 among recent mentalism thinkers.
But thanks to Mark's post, I got this and boy, what a great idea. I love this propless method. So clean and easy yet very fooling. Like Mark pointed out, this will make an excellent combo with a palm read - from a presentation pov. But the basic method is quite flexible. The way our hands are made - a ton of applications can be created with the core method. And at $6, I could have bought a few more - if needed Having said that, I still prefer Zodiak Gods and Happy Birthday Stranger by this author in terms of overall experience of a spectator for sign divinations and exact birthday divinations. But if I'm doing any sort or readings at all, and intend to keep the process propless, then this would be it.

Did I read the same book as everyone else?
"The simplicity of the principle is, at the same time, its true power and also its true disguise." I don't see anything simple about this. The spectator needs to keep track of 3 pieces of information. The performer will need to memorize a grid of information. There are 3 phases of process. This seems completely unworkable. I could barely make it through the instructions. Feels like someone is just pushing out material at this point. And honestly, shame on the big names who have given a quote for this. I'd love to see any one of them perform this. Giving a quote to any old thing because they received it for free is what destroys credibility. |

The procedure is overly complicated and results in a quite awkward and strange pose of the spectator. And even if you don't use the finger to temple ruse, the spectator's hand/finger position is just uncomfortable. I mean, try it yourself. Choose a star sign, read the instruction, do the "finger thing" (what the spectator has to do in order to remember all the necessary information) and than hold it for a couple of minutes. Unnatural and awkward. And the memory work for the performer is quite heavy. Far more complicated than an elaborate prog******* anag***. Sure, you could use a cri* sh*** but than the effect isn't propless anymore. I didn't like it at all and I'm afraid it is just a pipe dream. |

Personally I like this, however I personally am not a fan of the finger to temple ruse. However I did send my alternative to the unknown mentalist and he is going to include it in the next revision of the PDF. With this the spectator only needs to keep track of two pieces of info their star sign and the element. Well technically they need to focus on one then the other. The technique I will use is not self working it requires practice.
In the frame of reading someone's palm I think this is brilliant and with a little bit of thought about how to get the cues this is very workable. It does not take a massive amount of thought to figure out a way to get the cues that suits you better than the temple thing. Likewise it does not take a massive amount of thought to bring it down from three pieces of info to two although 3 does give you and extra element to give a very detailed reading. This is not a direct think of your sign you are a Gemini. This is why I don't agree that this is the best, however used as part of a palm reading this would work very well with a tweak to the cueing system. Personally I think this is more than worth $6. What's that, the price of a toffee nut latte. If this was just the first half of the idea alone with the reader left to figure out their own cuing method I would still find the simple seed worth $6. I am about to release a far more expensive (not propless) star sign divination and so it does not benefit me in any way shape or form to give this effect undeserved praise. Mark Mark |

Any opinion which states that guys like Richard Osterlind or Marc Paul or Marc Salem or Luca Volpe (hope I didn't miss anyone from the 'big names') would stoop down to giving a good review just to save $6 is an extremely foolish opinion indeed.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but we need to respect our seniors and torchbearers, although probably, this foolish opinion can be dismissed as more of a rant than a review. (an apology to the 'big names' may be in order too) Regarding this effect, personally, I like it a lot. Over the past few days since buying this, performed it over a dozen times. Used the finger to temple ruse, but couched it in an esoteric-type presentation (that's my addition). It played really well. Didn't need to memorize anything at all. But always with some dose of readings. Never had a spec having trouble with my instructions or remembering a single bit of info for a few seconds. Not yet got to trying Mark's idea (he sent me a pm, thank you, Mark), still practicing it a bit. But it will be good to have as another option for method. I would've surely missed a great piece but for this thread - that too at a ridiculous intro price of $6. (Ps - Never been disappointed with Unknown Mentalist stuff, at least so far and I've quite a few)

My criteria for calling this the 'best' propless method for zodiac guess are 2 things - how much time takes for process and how direct/unfathomable it appears.
At about 45 seconds, I found this method has the 'quickest' process - simply because there is no complicated verbal jugglery involved. All other propless ones out there take between 100 to 200 seconds, average. And it appears so direct and 'unbacktrackable' to the sitter. And the 'finger process' is so natural and goes with the flow so well. IMO, this is a must have for propless enthusiasts.

I actually stopped looking for new techniques since I created 10S Star Sign Divination.
Which only takes 10 seconds to find their star sign But still wishing good luck with sales for the creator. Olivier Boës

Simple yet fooling. As Mark said, goes very well with a palm read. Its on half price sale on Penguin now https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/10305 And I also got Propless Polaris last week from Lybrary. This is based on an unexplored new idea - a difficult thing in a crowded area like star signs. I liked the Signzen idea in there. And at $3, its a steal - on hindsight of course. https://www.lybrary.com/propless-polaris-p-923748.html

Last week, I was in a conference call with a couple of my colleagues. Towards the end of the call, I asked one of them to think of the star sign of anyone in his family and used Propless Sign Divination. It went over well. Then the other colleague asked if I can do it again for her, in a rather challenging tone. I obliged her but this time used Propless Polaris. Overall, it was a satisfying outing. Guess I've got used to performing virtually.

I could never see the point in this plot. Perhaps it's because the work to get there never seemed worth it to me. Maybe it's because the environments I perform in are not conducive to the steps the specs must go thru.

Ok that was harsh considering some of you seem to appreciate it. I'll sleep on it and look into it more later. Even if it's ultimately not for me I'm glad folks are trying different approaches.
