Hello Café folk,
As the subject line says. I would like to learn how to use a puppet. I never have tried in the past, so I have zero knowledge of it.
I searched a bit for a beginner’s DVD, not much came up. I am hoping one of you knows of a source.

Many Thanks, Dave.

Dave Risley was the absolute king of hand puppets. See if you can find some of his DVDs. If not, I'll sell you my VHS collection.

Thanks Arthur, I will look into it. I don't have a VHS machine unfortunately.

The Dave Risley DVD you want is "Glove Puppetry 101". Really gets into how to bring your puppets to life.

By the way, if you find one and want to do some of the routines, I may have some of Dave's puppets and props to sell you!

There are some good online classes by professional puppeteers. Google "learn to be a puppeteer". Some really good ones come up.

Dave Risley is the king of non-talking puppets. The puppets whisper in his ear and he usually repeats it in some way.

If you want to your puppets to talk, then you'll need a different source.
