I'd like to do a version of Omni Deck where at the end the chosen card ends up trapped half way down in the middle of the clear deck. The routine would be the same as the Omni Deck until the end.
Does this gimmick exist yet? Would it be possible to slice an Omni Deck and glue a card between the halves? |

James Brown had a version where a freely selected card appears to be face up inside the block when they lift up their hands which is quite clever. The newer Phantom Decks by Joshua Jay look much better than the original and let you do something like this, although all the individual clear cards do cloud up when layered together (I think if I recall correctly you can still faintly see a card 24th from the top, so you can quite clearly see it around 1/3 from top). Those are the only two things that come to mind at the moment. I suppose you could always try cutting one and seeing how it looks.

Memento by David Regal is similar, although the card is not right in the middle.

I would think you could buy a small sheet of 1/4" Plexiglass and cut 2 pcs in the shape of a card...and then glue then together wit a card in the middle.

James Brown's variation uses a regular Omni Deck. It sounds clever and I'd like to look into it but it's not what I'm after.
Regal's Memento is the effect I want but the block is not examinable at the end. Making my own is a possibility but if someone is already manufacturing one and it looks great I wouldn't mind spending money on it. Thanks for the info. |

How about the Phantom Deck by Joshua Jay, it's a complete deck of clear cards. Operates very similar to Omni Deck.

The Phantom Deck isn't what I want either. I want the card to be "frozen" in a solid block.

I'm thinking I would do the ambitious phase and keep saying "The card is CLEARLY going into the center of the deck". Later when they open their hands and see the card trapped in the center of the Omni Deck I would do a call back by repeating that the card is CLEARLY in the middle of the deck.
Too obvious? |

If the card does not have to be signed (and thus is already set in the deck), then it's quite easy to wrap a routine around.
Or, you could go back to classics, and have a signed card in a block of ice (Ammar did that, but I don't know whether he's the originator of the idea). P! |

Ammar's "The Ice Man Cometh" is awesome but not practical for table to table so I'm still looking for this gimmick.

"Bolted" by Jared Manley allows a signed card to appear bolted between two pieces of perspex plastic. Might fit what you're looking for.

Appreciate the variations but I'm really just looking for this particular gimmick if it exists.

I have seen this kind of thing before, but I'm not sure what it is called. I saw it while browsing magic geek's website before they went out of business.
Reality is a real killjoy.
