I am having difficulty removing the cap for the fluid chamber of a new Fantasio vanishing candle. I can't get it out even by grabbing the little tab with pliers!
Has anyone else had this problem? |

Yes, that is how they are made to prevent evaporation. Just take you time and go slowly, as you do not want to break off the silk holder.
If you do not want to, then go to a hardware store and get the very small corks, they come in cork an rubber. They are in the specialty section. |

Thank you Bill. It finally came off.
For anyone else with this problem, here's a hint: it turns righty-loosey. |

The original Fantasio Candles are not threaded, they only have a lip that holds the plug in. So turning right or left does little good. The Fantasio book suggest using a hair pin to pull it out, but that I find, bends the pin more then removing it.
It has always been Left - loose, right - tight. Maybe it is the opposite direction when below the equator. |

You're right - it's not threaded, just has that single lip. But for whatever reason, it seems to lock towards the left, even now that it's been in use. Maybe my imagination.
