Google shows many choices.
Folding one looks like it would be the one to get. Yes I've seen them being sold on magic sites as Magic Close-up Pads. Has anyone actually purchased one that they can use? And would you share your thoughts with me/us.

I've used these for years, and bought them for magician friends as gifts:

Anyone find any smaller ones?

Why not go to a local jeweler and take to them, they may have a used one they are willing to part with. I have seen them on the Internet as well. The draw back for me is the folding spine, that will not make spreading card and moving coins that easy, and may accidentally expose the workings. I think whether this is good for magic presentation is dependent on the effects you are going to use it with.
The late Tom Mullica use to use one in his close-up magic. From you comment, is sounds like size is an issue with you. In that case, just buy a small close-up, they have some nice circle mats at www.tricsupply.com that may work better for you needs. They carry a full range of close-up mats. |

I have one of Pattrick’s foldable close up mats. You will not be disappointed with it. It is a quality item and well worth the ‘sleight’ investment.
