Probably pretty good. If anyone would know the secrets of gambling it would be the author of "Magic For Minors"

This was a very generalized book written for magicians.
Still looks to be available online at all the usual internet magic shops. It will likely have some interesting information in it, but isn't particularly considered one of the "must read" books on the subject matter. If you read it, and enjoy it, there are certainly lots more in depth (and well known) books on the topic of hustling cards and dice to follow up with.

A couple of interesting things in it, but certainly not a top book.
It's a nice opportunity, by the way, to admit that, in fact, there are very few interesting Gambling books. In terms of history, anecdotes, etc. Yes, quite a few. Even if for many, stories are made up or, to say the very least, embellished. In terms of technique, er... In terms of Gambling protection, maybe half a dozen. In general, it's always the same stories, the same methods, repeated ad nauseam. With a tendency for obsolescence and, as a key point, an incompetent author. I have read many books in Gambling. I don't know exactly the right number, but certainly a few hundreds: 300, 400? More? Yet, I would face problems to list 50 which I would consider absolutely mandatory in every aficionado's bookcase. And 50 is a big figure. Very big. |

@AMcD:
Aficionado? Did you say "aficionado"? I like that term. Think I might start using it myself. |

Cardshark, by Darwin Ortiz, is a book written by Darwin Ortiz, from Darwin Ortiz LLC. The preface is from Darwin Ortiz, the postface from Darwin Ortiz and there are a couple of chapters written by Darwin Ortiz as special guest. It's a very nice book from Darwin Ortiz.
