I grew up on the island of Kauai in Hawaii (now living in southern Oregon)and Hank Soboleski, writing for The Garden Island newspaper there has written a couple of historical articles about magi of the past who performed there. I already posted about Jean Hugard in 1916. This time I'm giving you a link to his article on Max Malini's 1934 performances.
